The code will now allow those who are capable to read through it and understand how JailbreakMe 3.0 works. Comex is well known amongst the jailbreaking community and he is especially known for his JailbreakMe series of jailbreaking tools. The first version of this tool worked on iOS 1.1.1 for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The second version worked on iOS 4.0 an all iOS devices and the third version was released just a couple of weeks ago. JailbreakMe 3.0 which is codenamed Saffron works on all iOS devices that are running iOS 4.3.3. It uses a PDF exploit found in Mobile Safari along with some other magical techniques that makes this the fastest jailbreaking tool around. This is also the first tool that was able to jailbreak the iPad 2. Comex has released the source code for Saffron so that other hackers will be able to go through it and create their own tools. As it currently stands, JailbreakMe 3.0 won�t jailbreak iOS 4.3.4 as Apple updated the iOS firmware to patch the exploit that Comex used in Jailbreak Me. The first version of JailbreakMe was released in 2007 and it also relied on a PDF exploit that was present in iOS 1.1.1 which Apple fixed. Then came version 2.0 which was also quickly fixed. It makes sense now that Apple might be looking to stop the new release of JailbreakMe befoe the official version is released and according to prominent developers in the jailbreaking community Apple might already be fixing the PDF vulnerability. They are urging users of 4.3.3 to back up their blobs and stay away from the update. If you do have a jailbroken iPad and you want to keep it this way then you really will need to avoid the new update when it is released by Apple.
